Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
Noticed problem in 8.80.0016.
Fixed in 8.80.034.
It was also working on 8.80.0103.
Not working again in 8.80.0301.
Symptom: it doesn't show anything under right click > New Items, except a separator.
Fixed in 8.80.034.

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
Works here under XP SP2 and XY v8.80.0301.
Maybe you should check, where your appath is pointing to, and whether the items you expect to see under the 'New Items' menu are to be found there.
With the changes in installation procedure your .ini and .dat files might have been copied to a (the) new location, but probably the folder 'New Items' was left behind.

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
It's all "normal".
appPath\Data\NewItems\New
appPath\Data\NewItems\New_RTF.rtf
appPath\Data\NewItems\New_TXT.txt
As it was when upgrading to 8.80.034 and 8.80.0103. Did nothing special.
Changes in 8.80.0060 were observed when upgraded to 8.80.0103, which worked.
Will test on the other PC with same .ini/entire install and see what happens, but I saw the same problem happening there too.
So no clues on what's going on.

Looks like a bug, but where? Can you send me your whole NewItems folder wrapped in a ZIP?SkyFrontier wrote:It's all "normal".

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
-New Items does not reflect changes for .rtf +6 MB!
I had to restart XY in order to get such .rtf file on New Items menu under a Win7 machine.
Can someone please confirm...?

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
If I copy an .rtf (+6 MB/size) inside New Items' folder, it is not immediately shown at the New Items' context menu. Restarting XY solves the problem, ie - then I can see such .rtf as an option under New Items' context menu.
The problem occurs in a Win7 environment but not with XP.
Thanks!

Did you try View / Caches / Update New Items Menu?SkyFrontier wrote:If I copy an .rtf (+6 MB/size) inside New Items' folder, it is not immediately shown at the New Items' context menu. Restarting XY solves the problem, ie - then I can see such .rtf as an option under New Items' context menu.

Admin:
That was not required by the XP machine...
I'll try that and report asap (can't have access to the 7 box for now, sorry).
Thanks for the tip - that sort of stuff may save the skin on another future occasion!

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
Of course, Win7 should not behave any different here than XP. I will check this later. Did you copy the file to New Items from another folder or from clipboard? What was the current folder during the copy?SkyFrontier wrote:Admin:Well.Did you try View / Caches / Update New Items Menu?

Re: Keep an Eye on New Items
Copied via SHIFT+B (custom KS for "Backup To Other Pane").
Went to the original (opposite) folder and tested right click > New Items - .rtf wasn't there.
Same procedure on XP went 5x5.

What's "5x5"?

Military/Aviation/Communication term.
