Yes, of course I thought about it. But I figured: there's enough space in the file menu, so why not have them one level nearer here? But maybe the inconsistency is disturbing some innocent users...? Hmm...RalphM wrote:Why didn't you add the same submenu to the file menu as well to keep it consistent?admin wrote:Code: Select all
* Tree and List Item Context menu: added submenu "Move/Copy/Backup To", under which "Move To", "Copy To" and "Backup To" are now subsumed.
Wouldn't hurt in MHO.

Re: Here's the new BETA
Download the latest XYplorer BETA version (v4.40.0020, 07-dec-2005).
Code: Select all
v4.40.0020 - 07.12.05 11:35
* Menus Move/Copy/Backup To: better en/disabling depending on
current selections and focus.
+ The tray icon (after minimizing to tray) now has a little right-
click menu.

Works well:)admin wrote:Menus Move/Copy/Backup To: better en/disabling depending on current selections and focus.
I see you've update a bit, but why do you disable to whole thing for drives (C:\, D:\ and such), why not do like for the Desktop & disabled only Move ?

Drives cannot be copied, only their contents.jacky wrote:...why do you disable to whole thing for drives (C:\, D:\ and such), why not do like for the Desktop & disabled only Move ?
Re: Here's the new BETA
Well you could just create a directory like "Label (Drive D)"admin wrote:Drives cannot be copied, only their contents.
But yeah I see what you mean....

That's what Explorer does, I know. But do you really want to copy a drive to a folder? It feels funny...jacky wrote:Well you could just create a directory like "Label (Drive D)"admin wrote:Drives cannot be copied, only their contents.

Re: Here's the new BETA
There are so many other ways to do this in XY.. I'll wait until 2 folks cry for itjacky wrote:I don'tadmin wrote:That's what Explorer does, I know. But do you really want to copy a drive to a folder? An excellent program, Donald. I've used it almost from the beginning. I know of no other program, free or not, that the author works on and updates almost daily. Each release is better than the last. Keep up the good work. I do have one small request though. The only feature that seems to be missing in XYplorer is the "Simple Folder View" introduced with WinXP in Window's Explorer. Where you click on a folder in the tree and it automatically expands that folder's branch. It's one of the big improvements in Window's Explorer IMHO. Could you make XYplorer do the same? It would be a big improvement.
BTW...Congratulations on making the Pricelessware 2006 list.

Re: Here's the new BETA
Download the latest XYplorer BETA version (v4.40.0021, 10-dec-2005).
Code: Select all
v4.40.0021 - 10.12.05 10:18
* Menu File: added commands Open, Delete, and Rename. The Open
command applies only to (currently selected) items in the file list.
* Now you can open all currently selected files at once by simply
pressing Enter.
You can as well open selected files when a non- selected file is
focused, i.e. when the focus rect is positioned at a non-selected
file (was not allowed before).
If exactly one folder is selected, <Enter> will open that folder in
XYplorer. If more than one folder is selected, <Enter> will open
those folders with the associated program (usually Explorer).
! Open menu File, close it, add new Favorite, open menu File again:
crash (error 360)! Fixed.
+ List view: by holding down CTRL while drag-selecting you can
select another group of files, and another, and another...

File/Open -> opens 1 & 2
right click on 1 or 2/Open -> opens 1 & 2
Now I select 1 & 2 and 2 has the focus (focused row)
Enter -> opens 1 and 2
File/Open -> open 1 & 2
right click on 1 or 2/Open -> opens 1 & 2
I'm guessing this is exactly what you wanted to do, but is there still a way to open only the focused file (at least, if he's selected too)??
Before that's what Enter would do, while right-click/open would open all the selected files.
BTW here's a weird one: Same files, 1 is selected, 2 has focus
Enter -> opens 2
File/Open -> opens 1

Thanks a lot for ctrl select option. This program just keeps getting better. truly rocks.admin wrote: + List view: by holding down CTRL while drag-selecting you can

No, there's no way anymore to open only the focused file. Does it hurt?jacky wrote:...is there still a way to open only the focused file (at least, if he's selected too)??
