Info Panel behaviour

Something I've been meaning to mention and keep forgetting.
Info Panel open in either Preview or File View. Delete the focused file and when the "confirm delete" box appears the Info Panel goes blank. Cancel the delete operation and the Info Panel remains blank. Not a serious problem at all but curious to know why it happens. I can understand it going blank after the file has been deleted, but not before.

I have to let loose of any previewed file before a possible delete operation, because (at least some) files cannot by deleted while being opened at the time ("access violation").
I have to do this before the confirmation dialog pops up because there's no way to do anything between the dialog and the actual operation. That's by OS-design.

Yes, I hadn't thought about the old problem of the file being locked by another program.
