Maybe my OpenOffice Active X is not working like it suppose to, no? Or the preview of TrackerV3 has nothing to do with ActiveX?
Once again: TV3 just looks at Office files through Internet Explorer; TV3 does not influence at all what Internet Explorer does with the files, and I don't know how it can be influenced via system configuration, but something tells me that this must be possible.

I don't think it has anything to do with ActiveX objects, talking about MS Office that is. Now you're talking about OpenOffice ... well, teknerd, I never claimed that TV3 can preview OpenOffice files...

Sorry, my english really sucks then! I never said that TV3 can preview OpenOffice files, but what i undestand is this: if i open a doc file in IE i should be able to see it, right? But for me to do that i need a Word plugin?
(this is what i understand from all the documentation).

Well, from your report I conclude that you need MS Office installed to preview doc files through IE (or at least that OpenOffice is not enough). What's technically causing these differences between MS Office and OpenOffice I don't know. But it's not surprising that MS products work well together.

i think it is activex, cause i had msoffice installed, and then i got openoffice(set as default viewer for MS docs) an it previewed in tracker (XY) just fine. as soon as i uninstalled office, it stopped previewing. so..
