I just noticed that if you have full row select turned on (which I have), you cannot add/adjust tags or comments. Left/right clicking in the tag or comment column does nothing.
If I turn off full row select, this fixes the above.
Anyway we can have both?

Re: Full row select and tags/comments
i've been thinking the same thing for a while.
my idea is to add a new option to cover the ground between full row and name box select.
something like "name column select" or selecting on all columns except #, tags and comms.

That is a fine way to fix it, if it is possible.Muroph wrote:or selecting on all columns except #, tags and comms.
Re: Full row select and tags/comments
Just wanted to add that I feel the options are a bit confusing for anyone that doesn't use the Details list view all the time, since selecting tag column disables all coloring for the other views.
I almost think that unless the user selects no coloring then the non-Details views should all be the same regardless of the selected option.
Although I'm sure someone is likely to disagree so maybe it requires two separate options instead, unfortunately.

Hmm, I see. Are you saying that in non-Details views the tag-related coloring should always be "Name column" (even if "No coloring" is selected?!) -- that way even thumbnails would show their tag. I'd think so.TheQwerty wrote:Just wanted to add that I feel the options are a bit confusing for anyone that doesn't use the Details list view all the time, since selecting tag column disables all coloring for the other views.

For non-Details views if the user selects "No coloring" there should be no coloring, otherwise for those views all options should equate to "Name Column".admin wrote:Hmm, I see. Re: Full row select and tags/comments
So Don, is there a resolve of some sort to the original question of this thread?

Re: Full row select and tags/comments
Have Tag and Comment column left of the name column. Other than that: Full Row is full row. I don't see any excuse for making an exception to that.John Bee wrote:So Don, is there a resolve of some sort to the original question of this thread?

Re: Full row select and tags/comments
I'd argue that this is false. A click in a column that's to the left of Name does not translate into a Full Row select.admin wrote:Other than that: Full Row is full row.
I think that this should probably be reworked such that with Full Row Select enabled:
1) A Left click in any column counts as a left click on the Name column.
2) A right click in any column counts as a left click on the Name column, followed by a right click on that column.
And I'd just as well drop the behavioral changes that occur based on which side of name a given column is located, that's very confusing.
