Favorite folders icons without caption

Post by kiwichick »

The current method means we have to use a caption if we want to use an icon. Can it please be changed so that a caption is optional?

Huh?

Are you talking about Bookmark Toolbar Buttons? Because captions for those are already optional.

No. I'm talking about favorite folders (accessed from the Favorite Folders button or the Favorites > Favorite Folders menu). The folders list can take captions and icons but the icon is part of the caption, not the folder path.

From the help file:
Custom Icons: You can append a custom icon specification to the caption, separated by a | character:
"caption|[icon spec]" location
It would nice to not need a caption in order to use an icon.

This is a good idea in that a user could easily make vertical tool bars from their Favorite Folders or Favorite Files and not have the unnecessay width required of the caption (i.e., the width of the vertical toolbar would only cover the icon). Essentially it would be a vertical toolbar made from Favorites - either Favorite File or Folders. It would also be nice if this feature could be applied to a Favorite Files that did not include a separate designation for the icon (i.e., in normal cases where the icon of the exec file is used (for Favorite Files).
