Mousewheel scrolling in Free Keyboard Shortcuts

Post by ivan »

This does not work. No matter if I have one of the free keyboard shortcuts selected or not. Moving the mousewheel up or down doesn't affect the list.

XYplorer: 7.20.0000
Mouse: Logitech MX400 Laser
SetPoint: 4.6
OS: Vista 32-bit SP1

Hmm, then I suppose it also does not work in Search Templates and in any dialog under List Management, right?

I'm surprised because I thought I had finally understood what's goin' on in the world of wheels. Can other Logitechniks confirm this issue?

It works for me with Logitech Mouse.
I am on Win XP Pro SP3, with SetPoint 4.6.

Can it be that Ivan is on Vista?

Yes, I would say his statement "OS: Vista 32-bit" is a clear hint towards this direction.

Yes, I'd also tend toward this direction.

So, can I have another Vista user's confirmation?

Correct, scrolling in List Management -> History does not work.

P.S. I edited the 1st post because the OS is actually Vista 32-bit SP1. Not sure if SP1 makes a difference but wanted to make sure it's exact.

Scrolling works fine for me in the various List Management windows as well as the Free Keyboard Shortcuts window.

OS: Vista Business 32-bit SP1
SetPoint: 4.60.122

EDIT:
ivan, I just noticed in your original post that you're using v7.20.0000. Don had a few beta versions after that where he made tweaks to the scrolling behaviour. You should probably try the latest beta and see how it goes.

This is not directly related to this bug and I am not suggesting that this bug should not be fixed. Just a tip:

when in free keyboard shortcuts mode, typing the letter you want can take you to that shortcut faster than scrolling all the way down.

Confirmed, just tried v7.20.0022 beta and the scrolling works. I guess it's still a bug in 7.20.0000 and I have found a couple more places where it occurs but, thankfully, it has been resolved. Perhaps it's worth pushing something like this into the out-of-cycle update because scrolling is kind of a big deal and we all use it, it works in some places but not in others.

... "pushing something like this into the out-of-cycle update"... what do you mean by this?

Anyway, 7.30 will be published on June 30.

I was just thinking that sometimes the severity of the bug(s) that are fixed warrants a quicker update to the masses. You seem to be going in steps of 0.1 every month. And, while there's nothing wrong with that, some people are inherently "wary" of betas and would be reluctant to try it. I guess it's the old "want it quicker? get a beta!" slogan but, as I said, such philosophy could be reviewed on an issue-to-issue basis :)

Yes, I agree. And I wanted to publish it as quick as possible, in order not to burn potential customers. But it did not work out as quick as planned. Well, now it's just three more days... :)
