7z2301-x64.exe is the file you are copying?

The path is missing. Any idea why? Is it some special path?

It is a normal path like C:\Downloads\Utils\
I imagine that this has to do with the bug, and copying files from the Virtual Machine.
I haven't tested on other programs e.g. VirtualBox or VM Player. Is XYplorer usually able to copy files from them?

I had a similar problem with AnyDesk copy pasting files.
When I copy a file from inside AnyDesk and paste it to XYPlorer, it does nothing.
Explorer pastes it normally.
This wasn't always the case.
I didn't report it because I use an old AnyDesk version and I didn't want to update it for debugging.
Also, it's not such a big deal.
Just putting it here to be used for extra clues.. :maf:

Any rough idea when it started?

Just saw the notification..

It was working around the summer for sure, but I can't get more specific.
I tried again today to get the facts right, and there are some differences with the OP problem.

When I copy something (from remote Explorer/XYplorer) and go to local XYplorer and right-click, the Paste action is disabled.
The "Edit Clipboard" shows a totally empty box.
In Explorer is enabled and working as it should.
This is how I thought that it doesn't work in XYplorer.
But.. I just found out that if I press Ctrl+V, it does paste the file normally in XYplorer too.

When it first happened, I just opened up Explorer because I was in a hurry (online help ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), and filed it under the "doesn't work" label in my brain.
So, this is a different kind of glitch, that is not part of the OP problem.. sorry, about that.

@ rbxy: Does it work if you paste from the target folder's context menu?

1) Please turn off Custom Copy (Configuration | File Operations | File Operations | Custom Copy Operations | Use Custom Copy) and try again.

2) If you happen to have access to a Clipboard Viewer app, I'd really like to see what's on the clipboard after that copy from VM.

I tried it: Nothing happens. Nothing is copied. No error.

Tried both in the list view, and right click on Folder (i.e. shell context menu)
