Show File Version

Post by rbxy »

For some EXEs/DLLs XYplorer does show the File Version info (e.g. 3.1.0), however for others it doesn't.
Here is an example:
(rcloneui) https://get.rcloneui.com/win
I often need this info, and it is not shown...

Regards

Such info can always be found in the properties.
So it's not a big problem to get this information.
Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.7462)
Portable x64 XYplorer (Actual version, including betas)
Display settings 1920 x 1080 Scale 100%
Everything 1.5.0.1404a (x64), Everything Toolbar 2.1.1, Listary Pro 6.3.6.99

You mean XYplorer is not about efficiency and convenience?

I didn't specify, but I meant that it sometimes doesn't show the file version in the hint when you hover over the filename.

Getting to the File version info in the Properties is indeed possible but very cumbersome...

@Horst: I thought you meant the Windows Properties dialog. The XYplorer info panel, is indeed fairly easy to get to.

@admin: Yeah, but it doesn't show in the hint? But for other files (e.g. libeay32.dll) it does

Why is "Bitness" 32-bit for every exe (including 64-bit files)? You can see it in your attachment, too.

Bitness works correctly. Your file is a 32-bit exe.

Maybe app I'm testing is tricky, because it is single exe, but supports both 32-bit and 64-bit OS.

Hmm, it doesn't show up in the hint for me, for some files.

Compare rclone-ui to libeay32.
