Rookie License

Post by rag-2-riches »

I don't know man...after trying OneCommander, MultiCommander, TotalCommander, Files, Windows Explorer (since 1997) but I decided to buy XYplorer because it had every single thing I wanted...I don't really feel like a rookie :)

It's a Rookie license because you don't get the included-updates of the other licenses.

Nothing wrong with that per-say, there's already too much to explore, but every now and then there may be a new feature that you didn't know you even wanted.

Oh yeah, that's so true... Especially if you'll actually invest in that Lifetime License Pro... Got it 13 years ago, and damn, did XYplorer expand in that time... Check out version 8.50 and compare. I guess Don isn't pushing updates as often as we are used to right now since he's heavily working on migrating XYplorer from it's VisualBasic codebase to twinBasic, but usually you can expect minor updates (not including betas) every 2-4 weeks and major updates in less than a year.

You really don't want to miss out on the crazy stuff Don is definitely making up in future versions... or pay again and again... (well, I'm definitely not against supporting Don... not at all... but I prefer sending money because I want to and not because I have to to get the newest features...)

I don't know guys. It already does everything I want except one thing. I don't want my file autosorted when I drag and drop from one plane to the second plane in list view. It can go to the end of the list or the top...that's okay. But until that "wish list" request gets added, I see no reason for me to purchase it again. I am serious: XYplorer does everything I want. I have eve now set it to be used by default and in place of MS explorer. And I've been using that since windows 3.2 haha.
