Live Filter Box - even more useful

Post by aurumdigitus »

Short and sweet - would be even more useful if it had a drop-down list of most recently used searches. There should be an option to keep them between sessions or not. :appl:

+1 for this

There's already a sort of history for the live filter, since you can click on the icon to get the previous search.
Would be nice to have more history entries.

This a awesome new feature, thank you for adding this.

Would it be possible to use the mouse scroll wheel in the drop-down list?

You can scroll the list with wheel, you just need to open the drop down, and then keep your cursor above the LFB and use wheel there.

Using 27.00 on Win10...

A question and a wish regarding the new drop-down feature in the live filter box.

Wish: I would find it extremely helpful if the dropdown be sorted so that the most recent criteria is at the top. Perhaps give us an option or a tweak on how to sort.

Question: What are these entries at the bottom of the drop-down? I have not entered them in the box.

The list is already sorted so the most recent is at the top, keep in mind that used filters are only added after you deactivate the filter or switch tabs.

Those screenshot entries you must have tried to use as VF's at some stage in the past, the MRU is now shared between them, you can remove any you don't want (or re-sort) via

Tools | List Management | Visual Filters...

Thanks jupe, but my filters are not being sorted by most recently used. I followed your instructions for deleting unwanted filters (thanks for that) and then filtered on "zip" and then removed the filter. Checking the drop-down, "zip" appeared at the bottom. Did the same for "abc" and again it's at the bottom.

You probably changed the default conf, make sure this is enabled:

Configuration | General | Controls & More | Drop-down Lists | [x] Move last used item to top

@jupe, thank you for letting me know to use the scroll wheel directly on the LFB, instead of in the drop-down list itself. Wish I had tried that before asking. :(

No, it only works in collapsed state since this morning, the suggestion was expand first.
