Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
Re: Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
Oh, I didn't realize y'all were waiting on me!
Is it possible to do a right click function on a folder in the tree with options to "Scroll Into View" or "Scroll To Top"? Or does right-click get tricky programming-wise? I figured you'd just make a "Scroll Lock Tree" in the "Customize Tree" menu with CID, but the two separate options would be great in case you don't always need to go to the top.
I feel like a simple "Scroll Lock Tree" in the "Tools/Customize Tree" menu with a CID in the "General/Tree & List" configuration would be the easiest, as long as you can still move the tree with your mouse. That way you could set it where you want and just have it stay unless you move it, whether that's having your folder at the top or somewhere else.

- "Scroll Into View": By default, Shift+Alt+F6 does this in Tree, List, and Catalog.
- "Scroll To Top": The scrollbar itself has a context menu offering "Top" among other things.
- "Scroll Lock Tree": Yes, I could add that to the "Tools/Customize Tree" menu, but it sits so well right now at "Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Scroll selected folder into view" together with the related options, so I'm hesitating.

That's how it works now if you untick "Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Scroll selected folder into view". Have you tried the latest beta?... as long as you can still move the tree with your mouse. Re: Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
I just downloaded the latest beta.
Ok, that "Scroll selected folder into view" option works for me. However...
I've unticked "Scroll selected folder into view" and have my tree on "Scroll to top", but it seems to crash XY if I double click on a lot of things nested under "This PC" (Drives & such). Rapid Access folders seem to work ok though.
How do you turn off "Scroll To Top" or anything else in the right click tree menu? Seems like there should be a check mark next to each option so you know which one is on and then you can turn each one off or switch options?

Now you are using the new beta, make sure you have disabled the CEA you set earlier. If you are talking about the scrollbar context menu, those are one click actions, not toggleable settings.

Crash? What do mean by that? Is there any error message?

Ahh, the right-click tree options are one-time options, not permanent, gotcha .
Turned off the CEA and deleted the script but still crashing. Again, works fine when browsing through tabs, but the tree crashes the whole prog.
Even though I've unticked "Scroll selected folder into view", it still scrolls when browsing. I've also unticked "Expand tree nodes on browse, but it continues to open up tree folders when navigating through tabs. Am I not understanding the options or is this actually buggy?

What's the size limit on files? My zip is 4.09 megs and I'm getting this.

Good find! Both confirmed and fixed in next beta.

Re: Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
Downloaded the new version and it works, woohoo! I see you added "Lock Scroll Position" to the "Customize Tree" menu, thanks! Though, it took me a minute to figure out you added that, as I was expecting it to scroll lock if I unchecked the other options in the "Tree & List" settings. In any case, you rock!
On another note: I've never been able to get the normal windows explorer to interact with XY. Can copy & paste, but not drag & drop. I've tried checking/unchecking all the 64-Bit options under "Shell Integration", but have never been able to make this work. Am I missing an option somewhere?

Are you running XY as Admin? If yes, this might cause it, try it in user mode.

Re: Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
Ahh, yup that was it. I switched to always opening in admin mode because I was annoyed by being continually prompted, or not being able to do certain things in user mode.
Is there a workaround for being able to use it as admin, but still getting shell access to normal Win Explorer functions? On the other hand, I just figured out I may not need this since you can set XY as your default file manager (woohoo!). All these years and I never saw that . You have clearly thought of everything. Hats off to you, my good sir !
It would be nice if you could make XY auto-highlight the file you're opening to. For example, you download something from a browser, you click "Downloads/Open Folder" and Windows Explorer will open to that directory with that specific file highlighted. XY opens to the dir, but there's no indication of the file name you're looking for. I use this function all the time from other apps too. Possible to incorporate this somehow?

Re: Stop Tree From Scrolling w/o Locking
User/Admin mode and access to 64/32bit context menus are two different things.

Currently not technically possible. But 2025 will bring some changes that may make it possible.Broham32 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2025 01:16 It would be nice if you could make XY auto-highlight the file you're opening to.
