Not sure what you mean by "left and right scroll".

Interesting that something workd better yesterday than today.

I uploaded a new version (0009) with two scroll areas, and an additional checkbox. To get extra scroll support you have to check both of the bottom checkboxes now. For users that do not need extra scroll support, it might work best when none of the bottom checkboxes are checked.

Let me make clear that for me (Standard MS Wheel Mouse) everything works 100% perfect in 0009 with any checkbox setting!

All this has no effect on my mouse scroll which still does not work in 1.00.0009.

Mouse specifics:

From the control panel:

Wheel mouse optical
Click for left and right buttons
Auto scroll

From device manager:

Microsoft PS/2 mouse (Intellipoint)

Note that scrolling is fine with mouse with 7.10.0018 (noinstall, on XP) so do we really need anything better? (if it aint broke dont repair it...)

Have tried the latest version now.

My result.
WM_MouseWheel not checked.
Scrolling in the left window, Show Vertical Scrollbar gets to 5/0 then nothing more happens.
I can see that the scroll bar goes down little, the same happens when I click on the arrow down for the vertical scroll bar.

Scrolling in the right window, the vertical scroll bar drops down around the same as in the left window. Same here when clicking on down arrow, the scroll bar only gets down little.

It does not matter if I have WM_MouseWheel and Apply Extra Wheel Support checked or not. The same result.

Regarding the left and right scroll is that some mouse you can tilt the wheel left or right and depending on the application the window can scroll left or right.

We have the identical mouse, so I think it's some settings that's different. This is a screenshot of Control Panel / Mouse / Wheel ("Rad") settings, in German. The right Window is shown when you click "Advanced" ("Erweitert")

Have you deactivated maybe wheel support? If I deactivate it then I cannot wheel-scroll myself!

One leads to the other. All this is ultimately a consequence of the UNICODE supporting Edit boxes I'm just adding, and more directly a consequence of my need to abolish UserControls from the project.

I have the same settings as you, except that the wheel advances 3 lines at a time and not 6. Setting it to 6 make no difference.

The deactivated applications are exactly the same as yours.

This works great for my Synaptics Touchpad. I behaves exactly as I'd expect. I haven't observed it suddenly stop working as I did with v0007.

(I don't have a mousewheel to test the other part.)

I upgraded the drivers for my Logitech mouse to the latest version of SetPoint (the name of Logitech drivers).
Now must both WM_MouseWheel and Apply Extra Wheel Support must be checked to get any text in the text box.

When I scroll up I have text like this:
16:51:50 WheelRotate ScrollV Left: Delta=-1, Shift=0, X=316, Y=250

When scrolling down Delta=1, if I hold down shift and scroll Shift=4.

With the new driver nothing happends first until I move the scroll bar down or click on the arrow down and then scrolls up.
For example I move the scroll bar in the left window so it stand 200/0 and the n use the wheel to scroll up.
When I scroll up the window goes directly back to 0/0.

It looks like up is catched in some way but not down.

I can report the same thing. With my Synaptics touchpad both vertical and horizontal scrolling work well. It's not slow like it was in a previous version. I have a Logitech scrollwheel mouse that I can test out, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I think I may found where the problem can be for me.

I am using Win XP Pro with Window Classic, when I switched over to Window XP theme, the scrolling worked, both vertical and horizontal.

Hope this will help you.

Same here, with Windows XP theme scrolling works even without ticking the two boxes (use WM_MouseWheel & Apply Extra Wheel Support).

Everything stops working with Windows Classic theme.

That's the strangest part. All my code is, of course, totally symmetrical. Such a pattern as you describe points to some sort of bug in the environment. Once again Windows forces me to work around its imperfections...

Apart from that, thank you all for your feedback! It's important for me, of course, to get 3 or more voices to exclude any idiosyncrasies.

I need to check WM_MouseWheel and Apply Extra Wheel Support to get thescrolling to work under Windows XP theme.
Probably due to that I am using a Logitech mouse.

Hope you can solve this problem.

Yep, I can confirm this! Now in Windows Classic theme I get all your "mysterious" symptoms! At least we are looking at the same now...

Needs some research...

Okay, it was easy this time. I simply had made a little mistake. Version 1.00.0010 should work in Classic Theme. :D
