1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

Displaced Rename Box

Post by bergfex »

Is it just me or is the Edit Box in Rename Mode slightly displaced?

Its left margin is 2 pixels more to the left than in previous versions, because I enlarged the inner left+right margins by 2 pixels each. I like it that way. The icon is overlapped by 1 pixel, but who cares.

Got a screenshot?

PS: Looks exactly as in Explorer here, apart from Explorer's inner margin is 3 pixels, hence the name moves 1 pixel to the right when opening the rename box.

Well, not really polished language, but on my computer it doesn't look that good too.

Note that the box is not only shifted to the left but also to the top.

Based on the screenshot compare above, I'd agree that old vers looks much better! The new one is just looks out of place compared to WinExpl and other similar products...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Took me a minute to realize that you use Windows Classic Theme! :) Okay, gonna fix that...

A "feature" I really liked was the fact that if I was in rename mode and switched to another application, the edit box was still open when I returned to XY.

Don, did you change it because this behavior is unusual for file managers (WinExplorer, DO, SC and X² leave rename mode when switching to another application), didn't you like it, or is it just related to Windows Classic Theme again?

Neither. It's a consequence of the technology I'm now using to create the rename box. Sorry, but that "feature" is gone.
