Oops, that was German, sorry.
At least, it gives me a use case for the oops emoji. :kidding:

ok, thx for the help in judging PC Welt.

Here is an article, mentioning 5 file managers: https://www.techspot.com/article/2356-b ... ernatives/
It is from 2021 but it seems that it has not been mentioned in this thread before.

Is techspot better than PC Welt?

Interesting! Nikos is a good man. I will look deeper into his findings ASAP. The bad startup time is probably from the 64-bit version (the twinBASIC compiler is still totally unoptimized, and there are some problems with fast menu construction that tB has to look into), otherwise XY would have better overall results. And of course the text search speed mystery needs a closer look.

And xplorer² is the next file manager which integrates Everything.
Don should think again about an optional XY integration.
Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.8655)
Portable x64 XYplorer (Actual version, including betas)
Display settings 1920 x 1080 Scale 100%
Everything 1.5.0.1415b (x64), Everything Toolbar 2.3.0, Listary Pro 6.3.6.99

Nikos used the 64-bit version for the comparison, and it turned out that twinBASIC is about five times slower than VB when searching the text content of files. It’s not entirely clear where exactly the time is being lost, but the compiler is scheduled to be optimized later this year.
