Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
Because I am not very computer literate, so this problem of not being able to input Chinese characters is sometimes there, sometimes there is no I do not know what is going on, whether it is a system problem or a computer problem, I looked up the problem of "folder renaming can not input Chinese" on the Internet most netizens said it should be the problem of the system character library. But according to the method of the user to the operating system prompt can not find the file, so I do not know what to do, because re-install the new system or this error will occur, so I do not want to re-install the new system, just do not know if there is another solution

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
It looks like you are having a similar problem to mine (viewtopic.php?t=27610), and I'm guessing it's a problem with the TSF system converting the characters. Which Chinese IME are you using? In my case, besides Chinese characters, some Unicode characters (U+2015, 2022) are not being input.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
I tested two Chinese IME that happened to be present on my system and both worked fine. I was able to type Chinese characters into the edit box without any problems.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
Maybe it's a similar problem.
There was a problem when change filename in Korean (and Live filter box).
So I stopped using the 26.40.0000 version.
And now I just updated to 26.40.0100.
This problem never happened in previous versions. (at least in my memory)
So I tested it in 4 versions. (all free portable versions from official website)
All problems occur when entering Korean. It does not occur when entering English.
Normally, I would have tracked process of error occurrence, but I didn't track it because xyplorer is updated frequently.
v.26.30.0000 & v.26.30.0400
There is no problem at all.
v.26.40.0000
When change filenname, I entered consonant first time, It's not appear on the screen.
When entered one more consonant, the first time entered consonant is displayed. Consonant entered second time is not displayed.
If I enter 8 characters, only 7 characters are displayed on the screen.
And if I press enter key at this time, all 8 characters are displayed and change filename finished.
When I first updated to v.26.40.0000 and renamed filenames with korean, I got a lot of red alerts and critical errors. I don't know why... (cannot close alert box completely,, box popups again and again..) (I forgot to capture it. So Sorry... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ)
Referentially.. In Korean, consonants and vowels are combined. and make single character.
우리나라 (U Ri Na Ra) -> ㅇ(consonant) + ㅜ(vowel) / ㄹ(consonant) + ㅣ(vowel) / ㄴ(consonant) + ㅏ(vowel) / ㄹ(consonant) + ㅏ(vowel)
v.26.40.0100
Problems that appeared in v.26.40.0000 has been fixed (at least so far...)
But the text cursor position is located in front of last input character, not behind the last input character. (This issue cause inconvenience when using the Live filter box.)
System info:
Windows 11 pro Korean version. (Windows 11 23H2)
Only Korean IME installed.

Re: Failed to rename a file or folder
In v26.40.0200 I removed the recent changes. So it should work like v.26.30.0000 & v.26.30.0400 ("There is no problem at all."). Can you confirm that?
