Don will have to confirm this, but the zip component that XYplorer makes use of is part of Microsoft Windows, and used here it is the x86 version, so it most likely is running out of memory allocation size.

I've had the same issue for zip files with finished size around 2 Gb.
As far as I remember, surprisingly, despite the message the zip file was ok.
Workaround : use windows explorer :(

So the problem is just the message, not the zipping, right?

Well.... not so sure now
I just tried to zip a single 1.66Gb file XY failed (empty zip), explorer OK

For trial purpose I found a 2 Gb file with a complete folder structure, XY failed after a few seconds with the same message but the zipping went on and the finished zip file is OK.
Hope it helps

Not sure about the single 1.66Gb file, but that message should be history in the next beta.

Strange. I can compress a 4GB file without problems. How large is the resulting archive in your case? > 2GB?

original folder size » 2.17GB, zip compressed » 2.06GB
mostly epubs
I tried compressing a small folder (~100MB) and cancelling the operation : the operation is cancelled and a few seconds later I get the same message.
BTW the empty zip file isn't deleted.
