Code: Select all

 idxParent=35, newID=20
This kind of explains it on a surface level. newID can never be smaller than idxParent! That's as if a child was older that its parents. The question is why does this happen??? I don't get it. Is there anything special about your tree?

That folder "ClipMateExport", where is it? Which level of depth?

I don't know if it's better to start a new topic on this or post here, but I get these errors occasionally as well when double clicking to open a folder. It might pop up a couple times and I keep clicking OK. Finally it opens the folder. So far it has never crashed. Here's a sample of the error.

Thanks for the report. Hard to see anything suspicious at this point in the flow. From the next version, the error message will give some more information.

"when double clicking to open a folder" .... That's a double click in the file list, right? But it's probably not easily repeatable, right?

Yes. I usually have a pane set to show items as thumbnails. I believe it has always happened when I click a folder thumbnail to move into that directory. I've never been able to predict when it happens, seemingly somewhat at random from my perspective anyway.

double-clicking folder thumbnail ... that's a useful detail. Let me know when you find more details. Currently I cannot seem to reproduce it.

Got this again. I'll add screenshots and the error text. First came the 10, when I clicked OK, I got the 9, then OK and I was able to go into the folder.

So you dbl-clicked D:\MyData\0-SonriseStableBooks\0-affinity-publisher\horsestory1\docs\? But this folder does not seem to have a folder thumbnail?

Yes, double-clicked that. Not sure what you mean. The folder shows in the screen captures.

Before, you said "I believe it has always happened when I click a folder thumbnail":
viewtopic.php?p=219971#p219971

So, you just meant a folder in thumbnail view, not a folder with a thumbnail picture?

Is it possible that thumbnails are still being generated when you double-click the folder? You can see the progress of thumbnail generation in the status bar.

I now have a good theory as to what happened and have closed this unfortunate chain of events. Try the next beta.

I don't think it was still generating thumbnails but I'll keep an eye out for that.
