How to show neighbor computers under "Network"?

Post by tobwen »

In my local network I have two more (Windows) computers.

When I look now on the "Network" top node in TreeView pane on the left side in XYP they are NOT visible.
Even when I mark "Network" and press F5 they do not (re-)appear
I can connect to them via commandline commands and successfully transfer files.
So in general these computer should exist from XYPlorers view.

In

Configuration--->General---> Startup & Exit

I enabled "No network browsing at startup"
Thats ok. I want to make them visible only occasionally on demand (e.g. after pressing F5)

Whats wrong?
How can I tell XYplorer to actively search for neighbor computers and list them below "Network"?

Rare situation. :eh:

Try "Tools | Tools Special | Browse for Network Server...". Are your servers listed?

Regardless, this should work:
1) Check "Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network | Cache network servers"
2) Manually enter your servers once here in "Tools | List Management | Servers in Network Folder..."

No, not listed

Already enabled here

Thats interesting. It works.

However this is somehow a workaround from XYplorer.
I am still investigating the underlying problem.

Most possible the reason does not come from XYplorer but from Windows 10 since the neighbor computer are not shown in built-in Windows Explorer either.

I will give you a feedback when I found a solution.
Thank you
