I can't decide if this feature should be in Tabsets or Folder View, it would make sense in both.
Most of the time I keep the preview pane off to speed browsing and maximize screen space, but for some folders it's necessary to quickly see what's in each file (pictures, pdfs, etc.).
It would be nice if Tabset or Folder View stored the preview pane status so when these folders were accessed, the pane would automatically open. It would also be nice if the general layout of the panes is also stored so that I wouldn't need to resize the panes each time. For example, some folders contain PDFs and need a large preview pane, while others contain pictures or icons and only need a small pane.

Yes, others have wished for it before. It's in my head, but it's a medium priority.
