Search for MKV without Chapter Markings
Search for MKV without Chapter Markings
Hello,
I have an External HDD with a lot of MKV Movies on it. Many of these have Chapters Markings embedded in the MKV file. Others don't have any chapters. Is it possible to search for the MKV Files WITHOUT Chapters? That would be very helpful. I am a newbie to scripts, but by asking questions on this forum, I was helped out already 2 times by very friendly people. Hopefully you have any suggestions.
Greetings
Bart Peters

Mh, write a script that runs all video files through mediainfo and parse the output to find those that don't have any chapter markers?

Hello Highend,
Thanks again for the script. Is it possible to close mediainfo automaticaly after checking each mkv file. Now i have to do that manually. Could you add that in the script you wrote? As i said, i'm a newbie at scripting. I just know how to get the input right. Perhaps it's time for me to learn it. For me it's like magic, the script you made.

Re: Search for MKV without Chapter Markings
Hello Highend,
A friend told me that i should try out Directory Opus to use for scripting. I tried your script and it didn't work. So, i asked on the Directory Opus forum to edit your script, so i could use it with their app. I wrote them that i'm a total newbie to scripting. As a reply i got a lot of info that because of my lack of knowledge on scripting, i didn't understand. I have to say that XYplorer can be buggy at times. Startup was problematic for some time, also during refreshing XYplorer can stall. I think this had to do with the conventional HDD in an USB enclosure being connected to my laptop. But XYplorer is great when it comes to your script, searching functions and it's very versatile in every way. My question to you is: do you have any suggestions for the great script you send me to work in Directory Opus 13? I will always be a fan of XYplorer for the app and the people on this forum.
Thanks

Re: Search for MKV without Chapter Markings
Do you really think that I'm rewriting an XY script so that you can use it with a different file manager (which uses a totally different script interpreter)? oO

No, I don't. It was worth a try.
