Highlight files that match an inputted string in a folder without filtering the folder

Post by davidonabus »

Is it possible to highlight all files within a folder that match an inputted string without filtering the files that do not match the string?

Thank you!

Why don't you use the selection filter (Ctrl-M) for this ?
Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.7309)
Portable x64 XYplorer (Actual version, including betas)
Display settings 1920 x 1080 Scale 100%
Everything 1.5.0.1402a (x64), Everything Toolbar 2.1.0, Listary Pro 6.3.6.99

Use the highlight (or "spot") marker >> before the string, eg >>beta right in the address bar (press ENTER to toggle on/off) will highlight "beta". Add more strings separated by a space, eg >>beta zip xy.

PS: Okay, the OP probably means select when he says highlight, so Horst's reply is good. I leave the above info anyway. :)

PS2: There is also a selection marker >>>, eg >>>beta. It does not support >>>beta zip xy though. I wonder why, will look into it.

PS3: Fixed in next beta.
