Also I would reverse this process, uninstall first, then install.raphaelmsx wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023 18:31 I didn't do all of this at the same time, after intalling the next app, I've uninstalled the previous.
Floating preview and PDFs
Re: Floating preview and PDFs
At least with Sumatra (maybe the others you tried too) you have to actually choose to install the optional preview handler component during install, did you?

That's exactly what I did.
Not really, I've installed first the 32-bit version, which don't have this option, so when installing the 64-bit version, I didn't bother to look for options.
Now I installed again the 64-bit version with this option checked, and also set the correct GUID in XYplorer and is working fine!
What I really would want, is to have only one pdf reader installed (foxit, the one I like better), but for now I will settle for this solution.
Thanks very much for your help.

May be you didn't install the shell extensions while installing Foxit ?raphaelmsx wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023 14:56 What I really would want, is to have only one pdf reader installed (foxit, the one I like better), but for now I will settle for this solution.

For Foxit there is even a stand-alone version of its previewer.
It works fine with XY but it has the disadvantage that all previewed files are first copied to temp.
Its GUID is
{32a6a30d-c68e-4f7a-aa4c-2fa9011b0717}
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3447)
Portable XYplorer (actual version, including betas)
Everything 1.5.0.1372a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.3, Listary Pro 6.3.0.73

It's been ages that I installed Foxit I didn't remeber it wasn't installed with this option.Horst wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023 15:24May be you didn't install the shell extensions while installing Foxit ?raphaelmsx wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023 14:56 What I really would want, is to have only one pdf reader installed (foxit, the one I like better), but for now I will settle for this solution.

I've uninstalled Sumatra and reinstalled Foxit with shell extensions option and now it's working fine, didn't even needed to set the GUID.
Thanks very much!
