Hi all, I wanted to ask if there is a possibility in XYplorer to show not the file name but the data from an additional column under a thumbnail.
For example I have a 2 pictures of New York with the following descriptions:
New York (2022)
New York (2023)
I would like to have only 'New York' under the thumbnail for both pictures.
Since file names obviously cannot have the same name I wanted to ask if I can accomplish the above in another way.

Re: Text additional column under thumbnail
I'm afraid this wish is too exotic. I would understand if people want additional data there, but replacing the filename? No.
Just curious: Why is this a problem for you?

New York (2023)

BTW, XY should disallow remove column name in details view.
Re: Text additional column under thumbnail
Thank you for your response. I understand it's a bit exotic :-)
I would have liked it because I often create galleries using tags with files from different folders. Often there are in those folders pictures with the same filename (only different is the year or file number). These I do not want to see in the gallery.
But again I fully understand that it is difficult. But I wanted to ask for my state of mind :-)

It was like that before, but I had a generous day when I allowed this madness.

Re: Text additional column under thumbnail
I thumbnails mode you can hide the captions completely. Maybe that helps a bit.

Re: Text additional column under thumbnail
With the above suggestion of hidden captions, you could additionally manually create custom thumbnails with the text you want overlaid on the thumbnail, you can test this ability with the scripting command setthumb.

Thanks for the tips folks. I am going to try it out :-)
