 I was somewhat thinking about that but didn't take time to locate it...but...my reply was more generic in that it occurred to me that ability to pass some control keys to a script might possibly prove useful...just a thought.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

+ List: Now when in rename mode, pressing the Tab key will apply the
changes and immediately open the rename box for the next item in
List. Shift+Tab will do the same for the previous item in the List.
The function wraps around the upper and lower ends of the list.
Thanks for that - I just never found it. Now that I know what it is, I was able to find it in the help file (called "Serial Rename"). I did try to find it before before, but I guess my speed reading skills need some sharpening.

Under what name did you search it?

Oh, this was definitely user error - I tried several searches using 'F2' or 'rename' and some other key words. I'm sure that I simply passed by the paragraph that described this feature because I was scanning, but not carefully enough.

The help page that I looked at most closely was the "Keyboard Shortcuts and Mouse Tricks" page. If this behavior was described on that page I might have found it, simply because it's the one page I looked at most carefully. I don't know if putting an entry on that page somewhere would end up helping someone else or not.

Maybe a keyword "Rename next item" would have helped?

Maybe if it said "Rename Next Item" instead of "Serial Rename" in the Rename section of the File Menu help page I might have been more likely to notice it. But I'm looking with hindsight now, and I have 20/20 hindsight even without my glasses on.
