File Info Tips following Hover Box configuration instead of its own

Post by 1024mb »

Code: Select all

[x]Show file info tips
    [x]When hovering over the icon
[ ]When hovering over the filename

[x]Show Hover Box
    [x]When hovering over the icon
    [x]When hovering over the filename
File info tip is shown when hovering over the filename.

Code: Select all

[x]Show file info tips
    [x]When hovering over the icon
[ ]When hovering over the filename

[x]Show Hover Box
    [x]When hovering over the icon
[ ]When hovering over the filename
File info tip is not shown when hovering over the filename. The same behavior with the icon option.

Also if I untick all the 4 boxes but left the "Show..." boxes ticked the hover box and file info tips still pop up when hovering over the files (icon or filename). If that's intended then I guess the strings should be changed to "Only when hovering over...".

Tested with a fresh instance too. 23.90.0430.

I assume this is about items that can show no Hover Box, eg EXE files.

1) Confirmed, fix comes.

2) Cannot see any bug here. :?

3) It's meant to work like this: Unticking both options is functionally identical to ticking both.

To me this sounds rather strange.
I would think that, if something isn't selected, it isn't selected
Maybe it would be better if the title would only be title, without selection?

There is a top option (Configuration | Information | File Info Tips & Hover Box | Show file info tips) which you can untick when you don't want any tips. Ticking the top option but unticking all sub options is logically rubbish, so I made it as it is.

That's why I said the top option should be no option, but only a title. Then both options would do what they say, and there'd be no logical conflict.

As it is there *seem* to be more subvariants of the main option, where you can (de-)select 2, while the others are mandatory. But then the 2 explicitly selected should really do what they say.
(For me even if the number of mandatory optios is 0 :ugeek: )
