1 - is it possible to make it not perform the search again when i return to the tab? I would prefer the search results to stay in the window if I navigate to another tab and then back. Some of the searches I need to do can get pretty nasty (in terms of time to perform) over the network and I do need to go in between the tabs.
2 - have it default to all settings being blank or cleared out? As it is now, with the exception of the templates I have created, every time I do a search i need to clear out the name field, uncheck date, etc etc. Or click on 'Reset filters' to clear out all the fields and then check sync folders, uncheck follow folder link, etc.
Ok I lied a little bit..... I guess I don't want it to default blank. I want to be able to set the defaults and have it use those settings whenever I open a new search or click 'Reset Filters'. As I type this I have a feeling I will quickly find a default settings config somewhere but I still haven't so I will continue. I want to set the defaults mostly just for basic items like the ability to set auto sync, include subfolders, follow links, etc. The check box type stuff.
and if there is already this type of functionality i think there should be a 'Search' section in the configuration window along with general, advanced, etc so I can tweak it to my hearts content. That seems like a logical place for it to me imo. If these are tweakable in the ini file that is fine for me also. I am going to poke around in there some more once I post this but I really do think it would be beneficial to be able to set them from within the interface.
oh and btw,
Welcome back and thanks for my Beta Update Fix I was able to get today! I was going through withdrawls!!!!

Re: Couple Questions on Find Files tab
This has been discussed before and I believe it's planned for future...can't recall exactly what terms you could/should use to find other threads about this.eurytos wrote:1 - is it possible to make it not perform the search again when i return to the tab?
Update:Yes, this is on "Roadmap" (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=830) as "Search Results caching"...see also http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=1796
I recall asking for something like this before..I'll try to find that thread sometime today....eurytos wrote:2 - have it default to all settings being blank or cleared out?As it is now, with the exception of the templates I have created, every time I do a search i need to clear out the name field, uncheck date, etc etc. Or click on 'Reset filters' to clear out all the fields and then check sync folders, uncheck follow folder link, etc.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Miscellaneous / Find Files / Open Find Files and Reset Ctrl+Shift+F
Custom defaults: not supported currently, but in future there might be a scripting way to load a search template (which can act as your preferred default).
