Eject/load CD command
Please add an option to eject and load CD trays. I've found this problem when I burn a CD and nero eject it, but working remotely, I cannot get the tray back in to work with. Closing the tray command would be really useful for remote work.

Something that I've found to be useful for this kind of thing (as well as several other tasks) can be accomplished by using Steve Gibson's free Windows Gizmo (or "Wizmo" as he calls it).
You can find out more about Wizmo at http://www.grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm
You'd just need to add a user-defined command to call it with the "open" or "close" option.
I hope this meets your needs!

Thanks, the program you suggested is quite nice, it does this function. However it's an add on, and my feature request relates to XY itself. As a solution for myself, I found cdcheck which has the tray open/close functionality, however, since I'm a dedicated XY'er, I'd like this feature to become part of XY.
Thanks for the response.

I'm kinda with avsfan on this one...as I don't see this function as truely being within the scope of a "file manager", but more related to a product that deals strictly with CD's/DVD's such as media players, or burners or rippers, etc...and as I see it, there is a way to do it via UDC's that almost looks like it was built-in, so...I guess we'll see what Don thinks when he returns from 'camp'.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

But remember that we both just users, and thus I don't think I really have any more "pull" with Don than another user...ok, so I've managed to get some publicity for XY and I've posted a large amount of times here, but your opinion is just as valuable as mine.flyingrhino wrote:Ok, thanks.

Re: Eject/load CD command
I agree about the usefulness, but I wonder if this is still within the topic of file management?flyingrhino wrote:Please add an option to eject and load CD trays.
