Thumbnail count? Just count the files?

I vaguely remember you asking about the count before, and at the time it sounded like you may have switched off the status bar, is this menu entry enabled:
Window | Show Status Bar
if it is you should see the count in the bottom left hand side of the XYplorer window, if you select a few files you will see the selected count in the next section of the status bar.

I use XYPlorer just for my image database, and when I make subsets, a count is always appreciated.
For example, I may search Mustelidae (Ermines Minks etc &etc) in my 450,000 databse
I need a count to organise a pertinent contact sheet print.
Love XYPlorer, just fabulous.
