Intermittent crash while opening documents

XYPlorer crashes intermittently. It happens after double clicking to open a Microsoft document (Word, Excel, PPT). Not sure if it also happens with other files such as plain text, will keep an eye out. I'm on the latest version (20.50.0300 at the time of writing), but it has been happening for a while. Windows 10. I have a lot of folders synced with SharePoint, I'm not sure if it only happens in those (but it definitely happens in those). It's most likely to happen after just opened a new tab (i.e. open new tab, double click on document, crash). Happens maybe 10 times in a day of work.

Does XYPlorer write any error log files?

Hard to say what's causing this. There would be many more reports if it would be a common problem.

Are these folders very large or do they load rather slowly, i.e. could it be they are not fully loaded while the file is opened?

No, no such pattern.

So:
- Are there no log files, or debug mode which could help?
- Does upgrading perform a re-install, or is it worth trying a reinstall? And if so, does it keep my settings (favourites etc.)

Upgrade keeps the settings, but I don't think anything changed here since 20.50.0300.

What if you open by ENTER instead of double-click?

Unfortunately it crashes when using return to open a document too. Any other ideas?

Weird.

1) Do you have the Preview Pane open maybe?

2) Does it also crash when you select the item to open and then run this through the XYplorer address bar?:

No. I have a suspicion that it only happens within a few seconds of a new tab being opened (i.e. open a tab, attempt to open a document, crash). I'll monitor it and report back.

So tried ShellOpen <curitem>; but crashes still occur. I've been running for a while to see if the crashes only occur on synced SharePoint sites, but have now verified that this is not the case, so it;s not a SharePoint issue. Not sure if there is anywhere else to go with this, but open to ideas.

It would be useful to have the settings (tabs open etc.) saved automatically. The biggest pain is that when it crashes I lose all the tabs I had open. Is there a way to submit a feature request?

If there is no error message then the crash is fatal and catastrophic. No action possible.
