Sometimes URL don't connect but IP works fine

I have a lot of network drives. I'm finding that if I use \\MyNetworkDrive it often fails but if I use \\192.168.1.xxx it connects.
Windows Explorer seems to connect either way.
What could be the cause? Is there a setting that needs to be tweaked?

When you say "it fails", what does that mean exactly. How does failure look?

It has the standard ADMIN password but after entering that into the prompt provided by Windows Explorer it connects every time no problem with Windows Explorer (w/o being prompted each time)

XYPlorer connects with the IP just not with the URL (although some other drives seem to work either way).
Sometimes it works and then stops working so after resetting the NAS drives, routers etc I eventually replace the URL with the IP and everything works fine.

So XY does prompt for the password, but after entering it you get a "Location currently not available."?

No. Windows Explorer prompts for password once and then is fine.
XY continues to say location is not available yet same drive with IP address instead of URL works fine.

Cannot explain it. XY does not treat IPs different from other URLs. All are passed to the same Windows procedure which should do the job.

Any kind of debug/diagnostic I can try.
I just tried this again.
\\Seagate-437403\Public\Videos\TV A-B works in Windows Explorer but I get the attached screenshot in XY.
Maybe windows explorer deals with the password while XY doesn't prompt for one, just fails?
I've seen other times when it works fine in XY but it always seem to work in Windows Explorer although sometimes it prompts for a PW but most often it just connects.

Configuration | General | Controls and More | Network | Assume that servers are available

Still no password prompt? Restart should not be necessary, but you might try anyway...
