Visual Filter resets itself
Visual Filter resets itself
So I don't know if this is actually a feature, but when deleting a file with a visual filter turned on and then in the tree panel clicking the folder -in which you already are- the filter resets itself.
Is this suppose to happen? I haven't noticed this before.
I have also noticed that when you navigate through the tree panel using the keyboard and the filter is activated and you use the left and right arrow keys (to expand the tree), the filter also resets.

Re: Visual Filter resets itself
I am not using visual filters much (mostly live filter box instead), but could it be that the option "Find&Filter / Filters&TypeAheadFind / VisualFilters / Persist visual filters across folders" is not checked at your place?

Re: Visual Filter resets itself
It is. If I just change to another folder after deleting a file, the visual filter stays, it only resets itself if I click on the folder that I'm already at.
Thanks for your help!

Here I've uploaded a clip to show you what I'm talking about.

Re: Visual Filter resets itself
Strange (assuming "Persist visual filters across folders" is ticked).
Cannot reproduce.

Hi 1024mb,
I can repro your first point at work but not at home (different instances). I tried comparing the two xyplorer.ini files but didn't see anything that stood out.

There are at least two instances with this problem then, I wonder maybe this feature isn't used so often so that's why nobody else has noticed this?
It's weird that it happens in just one of your installations. I'm using Win10 1809.

Re: Visual Filter resets itself
How you delete that file?
Are there more files left in the folder, and are they visible with the filter?
Mini Tree or Maxi Tree?

I click the nuke button on the toolbar.admin wrote:How you delete that file?
In my tests, there are more files in the folder, but the deleted file is the only one in the LV with filter at the time I delete it.admin wrote:Are there more files left in the folder, and are they visible with the filter?

Yeah I can't either here at home, only at work.
If it makes a difference (I don't reckon it does), here at home (where I can't repro) I am on Win8.1. At work where I can repro, Win7. Both x64.

Re: Visual Filter resets itself
OK, I dived down into the code and found a possible explanation related to the way auto-fresh (after the delete operation) works in Win7 (they change this with every release, adorable) and some other factors. Might be fixed in the next beta. No mention in change log because it cannot be described with words.
