Move File to Folder

Post by VeeGee »

Good evening all,
Is there a shortcut or option within XY that would allow me to quickly move files into subfolders of the name (create the folder if it doesn't exist) ? I've look into Move To/Backup To, but didn't see anything for existing file names, just date examples.

For example, I have a ton of files in C:\Temp. I would like to select them and have XY create a subfolder w/the same name (no extension) and move the file into it, e.g. C:\Temp\Flash Gordon.vpt would become C:\Temp\Flash Gordon\Flash Gordon.vpt.

I use Move/Copy to Parent all the time to move/copy files down the tree, am looking for an option to move "up" the tree.
Many thanks.

The link was perfect ! Thank you. I made a few slight changes for my setup, saved as a script, created a CTB for it and even added it to my hamburger menu ! Thanks for the tips and Highend for the script.
