First character jump doesn't support Chinese character

Post by liuzhaoyzz »

First character jump doesn't support Chinese character
F9,tool→option→find & filter→filter & pre-input search function
When I input an English character or a number in the list, the focus will jump to the file which begin with the character input.
But if I input a Chinese character such as “测试” with typewriting, the focus won't jump to the file which begin with the character “测试”。
Looking forward to your improve, thank you!

First time I hear if this, but I cannot test this here. So that's hard to fix. :|

I think it never works, but 'Paste and find' works fine.
If you want to test, you have to install Ms Input Method Editor (IME).
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... od-editors
Please try it and fix.
Thanks.

I tried it and it seems impossible.

A workaround:
1. type > into the address bar
2. IME type your character
3. press ENTER

' Type > into the address bar' ?

1. I type '00' in the file list panel, like below. It works fine.

2. And then, i type '不' in the file list panel. Xyplorer has no response.

3. I type '不' into the Live Filter Box. It works fine too.

OK! I know what you mean now.
Thanks!

But i think the original question should be "Type Ahead Find" cant't use complex characters like Chinese character (same to Japanese and Korean).
If i use Address Bar,it is no different than using the Live Filter Box.

You can change your system locate to test this.
control panel→search language→Regon and language→Administrative→Change system locate→select chinesesimplified,PRC)and reboot.
Install a Chinese IME and test it.

I mean type a character in the file list,if the focus is in the file list.
The method you give did work.

Yes, I know what you mean. Address Bar is just an alternative. Directing typing into the file list does not work.

Looks like your best option is the Live Filter Box.

"type > into the address bar" did work, but it need to type more character ">" and "ENTER",and it is not easier to change the focus to the address bar.
We often lock the focus in the file list window. So if XYPLORER support the first word jump,it will be very effective.
ALT+F3 the real filter only show the directory or files which include the key words, the other directory or file won't be see,it is not highly activehigh efficiency.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I can type the first Chinese character in the list window of MS windows explorer.exe,it will jump to the directory or file which I type.
Looking forward to your improvement in the future.
And wish xyplorer to support right mouse gesture. Now I use strokesplus for instead.
Thank you.
