I'll stick with Allan Style-Subsilver for the moment. we_universal has the same problem as prosilver but in gray scale instead of color.
The colors in Allan... have changed somehow with the switch to the new phpbb version though and it is not for the better (for me at least).

Furthermore the Allan... theme doesn't show any XY logo at the top but rather a generic phpbb one with the theme name in it.

Fixed the logo.

PS: I'm personally using we_universal now. No problems so far, and looking cute.

I assumed the new style would be your new favorite.

What I don't see with prosilver and the new we_universal is the distinction between read and unread threads and forums at a glance, I need a much bigger zoom level to see the subtle difference of color on the thinner lines of these themes, whereas the different color of the "sheet" in the icon of Subsilver themes jumps right at me (remember, I'm one of these red-green colorblind men).

OK, I made a new set of graphics for the we_universal style. They are very light and subtle. Let me know what you think...

Hi Don

Yep, this works a lot better on the forums containing unread posts but within the threads it's still a bit hard to see the difference between the read and unread posts.

Yes, much better.
Now the only "gripe" left with the new theme is that it wastes a lot of horizontal space on the left for the posting member info but that's not a biggie.

As of yesterday, 28 Oct, I noticed the theme for the forum has changed to we_universal from my set board style (theme) in Control Panel of prosilver. For some reason the forum board style is in my set prosilver only when I'm logged in to the forum. This was not the case previously until yesterday. When not logged in, and I'm usually not unless posting, the theme goes to we_universal or whatever must be a default when not logged. I don't mind the colors but those other 2 themes are too spread out for me on a 27" monitor. I like the close proximity of the board discussions column and the topics and last post columns. What happened, can I fix that, or did I do something stupid?

No, this is all as it should. I changed the default theme to we_universal because it looks better and more up-to-date. You will get used to it quickly.

It was only the lead screens for the main topics like the Board Index and the discussion topics that I found to be spread out on a large monitor. The actual post pages themselves are fine. As you said, I'll get used to it. Though I should change my set style to the default so it's not jumping back and forth between styles when logging in and out. :)

we_universal looks horrible, but then I suppose black and white is appropriate for a program that is written in a language developed in 1964, long before colour graphics.

Sorry Don, but I can't help but dig at BASIC, it is such an appalling language.

This new style can be applied in other forums that use this template, through a file, or what is the procedure?
