No autorefresh in the list
No autorefresh in the list
I did not pay attention to it before but a few days ago I noticed a problem with autorefreshing the list content when saving a file from external program. I came across this when saving from Notepad2, then out of curiosity tried Notepad++ and a couple of other progs and in all cases the list did not autorefresh. I also checked on a fresh profile. As far as I could find this happens on versions from the latest beta down to at least 19.20.0016 (I simply have no other beta distribs). However the "vanilla" 19.20.0000 version autorefreshes perfectly. Can anyone confirm?
Re: No autorefresh in the list
Hi yuyu,
I have noticed this as well. It is intermittent and so I didn't notice it at first.
Edit: I first noticed it when downloading using firefox. You know how, when you start a download FF creates a file with temporary name and then renames it to the final name when it completes. Well, I found that the LV refreshes to show the temp file but does not always refreshed when the temp file is renamed at download completion.

Re: No autorefresh in the list
Hi JohnM,
It seems that the list never refreshes with very small files (about 1 KB or less) and always refreshes with file sizes 10 MB and bigger. All in between is "not always"))

Re: No autorefresh in the list
This is really intermittent.
It happens to me for long time but is really rare indeed. And yes, maybe with Firefox's downloading scheme it's more prominent.
I'm more to blame Windows here as it sometimes happens with Windows explorer as well.
Years ago I was writing some small tool in VS and during my research I got to know that watching folders (event-based instead of polling) is not reliable method in Windows OS. It was a rather shocking finding because the other method is very inefficient, with many flaws and complications.
