Yes, it's a universal known fact the FF performance is deteriorating.
One sure way to speed up all applications is to run on an SSD, not expanding the RAM size.
SSD price is SATA3 SSD price becomes more affordable lately.

My current XY setup: distraction free, keyboard-driven, plenty on real estate, yet fully operative with scripts I'm building these days.
A dream come true, for certain workflows.

I use very little of XY but I am very pleased with that which I do use.

It was a case of love at first sight. :D

Sorry to reply to an old post. Want to ask, is that nice 'menu' visible on the right actually just the right-pane view, pointing to those entries that make it look like a menu? At first I thought it was a new way of positioning the catalogue.

New? Not really.

Menu - Window - Arrangement - Catalog First
must be unchecked

Menu - Window - Arrangement - List Centered
-> Catalog on the right side
