I cant seem to get delete actions to show up in the Action Log, besides Delete (Permanent) when skipping recycle bin. If restoring from recycle in isnt possible from the Action Log, it would still be nice to have deleted item show up there.
I tried both commands with the same result:
#1055 Miscellaneous | File Operations | Delete (Recycle, No Confirmation) >> (Del)
#169 File | Delete (Del) >> (Ctrl+D)
Delete actions in Action Log

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
You delete a file to recycler and this action is not listed in the Action Log?
I cannot see how this could possible fail.
Are you sure your Action Log is enabled?
Configuration | Undo & Action Log | Log actions and enable undo/redo

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
Correct. The action log is enabled, I look at it frequently when I'm shuffling files around. At first I thought it was because the list location was a directory junction/symlink of the actual location, but that wasnt it. And then I noticed in the system properties I had turned off the recycle bin for this drive awhile back since it was a temp drive, but I re-enabled it and delete actions still dont show up.
It appears deleting to recycle bin isnt logged for any drive I delete from, I have to go to recycle bin to get it back.

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
I tried again running as administrator, no change.
I tried with a fresh install and enabled action log, and made sure my delete key was bound to the same command (#169) as my regular install. It showed up in the action log, but if I did undo from edit menu, or right click then undo in the event in the action log, nothing happens. I ran the fresh install as admin also.
One thing I noticed is that using the same command with fresh vs my usual install, I dont get the prompt to confirm send to recycle bin as I do in fresh install. Its like its running the no prompt command instead, but my keyboard assignments look fine as in screenshot below

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
So we have two different and contradictory issues here:
1)
So this must be something very specific to your system. Would could that be? At the moment I have no idea.

2)Millzey wrote:It appears deleting to recycle bin isnt logged for any drive I delete from, I have to go to recycle bin to get it back.
And nobody else seems to see these issues on their systems. Undo/Redo is a core feature in XYplorer -- I would be flooded with emails if there would be anything wrong with it on a generel level.Millzey wrote:It showed up in the action log, but if I did undo from edit menu, or right click then undo in the event in the action log, nothing happens.

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
#1 was with my install I always upgrade to latest.
#2 was with a fresh install with latest version.
If its something in the config of my day-to-day install that is causing the problem (it must be right?), I can check to see what ini tweaks I may have made, like run a diff on a fresh install and narrow down to true/false items that might be causing it
If if would help if I send you my ini let me know. I've been using the same ini since I purchased the app, probably version 7 or 8 I'm guessing.

Re: Delete actions in Action Log
So far what I can determine is that when I have Delete checked under Background File Operations (Apply to tab), delete actions dont show up in the action log.
