Save Column Permanently

Post by CookieMonster »

When saving Columns, then switching to another folder, then going back to the previous folder for which the columns were saved, those saved columns are not restored. I have to manually load the saved columns; is there any way around this so the column is saved for the folder or drive permanently or until I decide I want to change the column for the drive or folder ?

Did you check Settings > Colors&Styles > Style > Button Apply to...
By default there are not all items checked. Was my problem too.

You can associate the set of columns with a Folder View:
  • Add the Folder View Settings button to the toolbar (big blue F icon).
  • In the list, go to the top level folder you want to customize.
  • Select and arrange the columns you want, then left-click on the folder view settings button to enable/create the view.
  • Then, if you want the column configuration to be applied to any location under that top level folder, right-click on the button, go into Edit... and check Include subfolders.
  • Also, make sure Column layout is checked in Applied Settings
Running on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit quad-core ASUS G752-VY notebook with 64 GB RAM, over 26 external USB3 drives attached via multiple powered hubs with letters and mount points, totaling 120+ TB.
