Whenever I try to drag a file or folder, immediately as soon as I start moving the mouse XYplorer crashes and I get "Run-time error '460': Invalid Clipboard format." Using hotkeys or the context menu to copy files is not a problem. Of course the state and any config changes since starting XYplorer are lost which is frustrating.

After switching to Arch, I didn't expect XYplorer to work, so I've been content with SpaceFM. I only use XYplorer now for Wine stuff. Seeing this thread confuses me though. Is everyone else having the same problem but they don't care, or is it just me?

Today I experienced this with 15.00.0100. I noticed the same issue with 14.x versions. The first time I tried it was either summer or fall of last year. I never had this problem in Windows, just in Arch Linux using Wine. Things like this happen a lot in Wine, but seeing others have success makes me wonder. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm using Arch and not Ubuntu. At first I thought it might be because I'm using Wine 1.7 while the Ubuntu repos still provide 1.6 as the latest stable version, but these instructions explicitly state to use 1.7, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe this only happens with XYplorer versions 14+; mine appears to be the first post in this thread since 14.00 was released.

Please try the latest beta here from the forum. If it's the same error I cannot do anything.

I tried on LinuxMint 17.2 Cinnamon

XY starts with an initial error. It allows to browse when Wine is set in XP mode but not on Win 7 or Win 8 mode. Floating preview crashes the application. I tried a basic script and it worked as well

Maybe I should start a new thread but this seems to be the most on-topic place:

I have installed the latest XYPLORER (17.00.0200) in a new install of Crossover (15.2) and XYPLorer starts well (well, except for that error message that we can click through).

The reason for my post is that I am not able to drag and drop in the main file list. I understand the issue with the file associations, but this doesn't appear to be related to that - i can't drag and drop to reorganize the files in folders, or move to a catalog. Double-clicking opens a PDF file in the native linux pdf viewer, but drag and dropping of a file or folder does nothing.

Any ideas what might be the matter?

thanks

EDIT: It appears to me that the key info in the crossover debug is probably this:

Could it be that you ticked "Manual Sorting"?

Tools | Customize List | Manual Sorting

If that's ticked you cannot drag stuff out of the list.

Well THAT's another cool feature I had not discovered! manual sorting! wow!

Unfortunately that is not the problem. And actually, when I do click manual sorting, manual sorting works great! But when I click it off, nothing -- I am getting no evidence whatsoever that clicking and dragging works in any aspect of the program except within the CATALOG, where clicking and dragging works fine within the catalog.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Others can click and drag fine in Wine/Crossover or Play on linux? Maybe my settings are in fact somehow wrong, but I'd appreciate it if anyone else can confirm that clicking a file in the file list, and dragging it to the catalog or to a folder, works....

thanks!

Try to play with this setting:

Configuration | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | Use standard shell drag and drop

When I checked that setting the box was x'd, so I un-xed it.

The result, when I then tried to drag a file was: Runtime error 460 - Invalid Clipboard format. and the program closed.

I then tried to play with the options underneath that mostly with no result, but one time I did get:

Run-time error "97".
Can not call friend function on object which is not an instance of defining class.

At no time did any setting give any indication that dragging was going to work.

OK. There is nothing I can do. It's a thing Crossover has to sort out. :|
