Script to make use of PowerArchiver internal previewer?

Post by Anselma »

Hi,

I have PowerArchiver as compression tool which feature I find very helpful is its internal previewer allowing me to preview files inside an archive. Since XYplorer has not yet supported native archive handling, I would like to ask if there is possibility to create a script which will borrow PA's internal viewer ability for opening and browsing the inside of any targeted archive (in other word, treating archives just like regular folders)? Or is scripting usage towards compression tool confined only to common tasks like archiving and extracting?

Thanks in advance! :)

You mean that a e.g. a doubleclick on an archive file inside xyplorer shows (only) the preview window of PowerArchiver (or that the preview window will transform to some kind of list view inside xyplorer itself)?

Does this feature exist for the normal Windows Explorer?

Like in the way that other file managers would do when handling archives (e.g. Directory Opus, Total Commander, or Freegate). Simply double-clicking on an archive will open it just like opening an ordinary folder. Thus, the contents can be previewed. Which category will this fall into? The latter, I think?

I am looking for a script which can produce the same experience upon execution.

I have just realized, that PowerArcihver preview now works great with XYplorer. This should be ticked:

No, folder support for archives must come from inside XY, not from an external shell extension.

I'm not sure what LittleBiG means, either the context menu "PowerArchiver - Preview - Preview" or the preview in the "Preview" tab in XY weren't working correctly in the past...
