As far as I can see, there are context menu items for creating new folders and new text files, but not for creating a new Word document, Excel spreadsheet, or any other types of files (depending on what is installed).
I know there is a 'Show 64-bit Context Menu' item, but it does not show up in the context menu when I click in the empty space of the list view.
The result is that I can not create new items other than folders or text documents using XYplorer. Or am I missing something?

Create e.g. an empty .doc(x) file in the "NewItems" folder (of your "Data" directory of XYplorer).
E.g. my portable installation is under:
"D:\Users\Highend\Tools\XYplorer"
So I'd save an empty "Word document.doc" file under:
"D:\Users\Highend\Tools\XYplorer\Data\NewItems"
Then you can create a new empty word document with a right click and selecting "New Items" -> "Word document.doc"

That's fast! And it works too, thanks! Would not have thought of it myself. Somehow I was expecting it in the menu by default, but this is even better.
I started using XYplorer recently, because I switched from Windows XP to 7 recently. One of the reasons that I did not make the switch earlier was the terrible standard Windows Explorer. Anyway, this was the only thing I could not do compared to Windows Explorer.
