New to XYplorer, but delighted with it so far. A latecomer - very late! - to Win7 (from XP, where I "lived" in Explorer). It only took me a few days to decide I couldn't live with 7's File Explorer - too many little things that I used all the time either lost or changed. With XY it feels like coming home! - but with so much more. But a lot more to learn too, with all the available features.
One small query for now, and I'm sure it's probably a setting I've just overlooked somewhere.
If I click on a file in a folder to select/highlight it, navigate to a different second folder, then use the Back button to return to the first, how do I ensure the focus remains on the same file, i.e. it's still highlighted/selected?
Keep selection on last file highlighted?

You're welcome!
Also, some small tips to aid your exploration...
As you poke around XY's many settings (bit of an understatement
) you may find it useful to click the Jump to Setting... button or press F3 in the Configuration dialog.
This will present a list of most of the settings which you can filter:Double-clicking an item or selecting it and then OK will "jump to" the setting and highlight it as shown in the previous screenshot.
Similarly, if you're looking for something on the main menu you can use Help > List of Commands which shows a list of all available commands and their path on the menu. Note however, that unlike the other list this one will execute the selected command on OK or double-click instead of jumping to and highlighting.

OT: You really use black-on-darkgrey for highlighted items? That's a lowlight rather...

I guess so, but...admin wrote:OT: You really use black-on-darkgrey for highlighted items? That's a lowlight rather...![]()
1) It happened kind of accidentally.
2) It's not entirely by choice.
My list modes are all set to dark backgrounds (#151515/cod gray for browse) but share a font color of #DADAB9 (tana) for years now and back then I used a selection color of #636363 (dove gray).
When you added Styles > Selected List Items I continued to use dove gray, but eventually switched to using the Windows Themes selections. I think because classic started using that super-bright blue, which may be a Windows color, but memory is hazy.
I don't want to and am too lazy anyhow to theme all of Windows so normally I see the default light bluish color Windows 7 uses when the list is active. This is okay with my normal color choices - not my favorite but not terrible:However, when the list is inactive I'd normally get Windows 7's light gray which I find too bright in my list pane, so I left Selected List Items enabled and thus the inactive list pane uses that dove gray and a font color of black (not user configurable in XY, right?): Unfortunately, when I view other inactive lists inside of XY I get the black on dove gray on a white background and it is less than stellar there. It hadn't bothered me enough to investigate a fix... though now that you mention it.
