Thumbnails only for .inf files, for .log, .txt, .reg ... no thumbs. If i rename these to .inf, then thumbs.
But for these files ( txt, log, reg ...) MDBU works when mouse click on file ICON (the option activated), when click on the icon where the thumb should be generated -> no reaction.
So XYplorer gets the information for generating thumbs, but file type prevents it to generate the thumbs.

a). Be careful with the registry, make a backup!
b). This decision is not mine, found on some forum, do not remember where.

Solution for Windows 64 bit:
1). Install CBX Shell onto an x86 machine or virtual machine.
2). Copy the following 2 files from the 32bit machine on path (assumes default path) C:\Program Files\T800 Productions\CBX Shell
unrar.dll
CBXShell.dll
3). Rename copied CBXShell.dll to CBXShell.32.dll
4). Copy unrar.dll and the renamed CBXShell.32.dll to the install path on the 64bit windows machine (which should be same as above for default path).
5). Create and import a registry file with the following information ......
Hello Slavaon,
does this work in your system for zip files in XYplorer?
In my system only for win explorer.
Thx for attention.

I don't remember, and there is no opportunity to me to check.
Thumbnails for CBZ/CBR work precisely.

A customer has issues to show DOC/DOCX thumbnails in XY. Apparently it only works when documents are explicitly saved with an embedded thumbnail. Are there any 3rd party thumbnail extensions that could fix this?

Do you have any idea, why there are thumbs for .inf files, but not for .txt, .log , .reg ...text files ? And if these are renamed to .inf, thumbs are shown.

You get thumbs for INF files? They are text files, right? Got a screenshot?

This is after installing Thumbnail Extensions 1.03.
Before no thumbs for .inf files, but MDBU works without these extensions for all textfiles , but you have to click the file icon within the name column.

BTW: has anybody thumbnails of .zip files in XYplorer, and if yes, which extensions you use?

OK I see. Not very impressive that INF thumb, but maybe better than nothing. Anyway, I know why you get thumbs for INF and not for TXT (or ZIP). It's because I excluded those file types from thumbnail extraction in a hard way to gain some performance. I never thought there would be thumbs for text files. My mistake! Wait for next beta...

Thank you! :) Now i have additionally thumbs for .zip, .txt and .log files. For .ahk and .reg files not yet. If i rename these to .txt, i have thumbs.
Edit: for .eml no thumbs, if rename to .txt -> thumbs

That's not XY's fault. Probably your thumbnail handlers are not assigned to those file types.

Hi krkam, I'd like to get my hands on a clean English version of Thumbnail Extensions 1.03 to get text thumbnails. I know you said you had success in txt file thumbs, but are you on a x64 Windows? Every site I've visited to has been very questionable in that they lock up ieXplorer a point where I have to use Task Manager to get out of Windows Explorer. Any ideas on where I can get a good clean English version copy?

Thanks krkam, I had went to that site once before but hadn't attempted to download thinking it was the Japanese version. Anyway I installed it and it works fine. I even added XYS files to the text file listing in its Control Panel applet as you can see. It looks like the thumbnails are a certain size and the size is not changed when the thumbnail size is increased in XYplorer even after a Windows restart.
