Problem in scrolling durng D&D
I'm pretty sure this is quite new, but can't say "how" new it is: make sure you have a "long" Tree (you need the Vscrollbar) & you're more on its top, then start dragging some file(s) and get over the Tree by its lower part (ie. through the resizer between Tree/Catalog) : the Tree suddently jumps all the way to its end !! I'm prety sure it used to only slowly scroll down.

Re: Problem in scrolling durng D&D
Funnily, I was just thinking about changing it a bit (as I did some days ago with the catalog): scroll only when hovering the upper/lower half of the first/last item, so that you can drop on it without having it run away.

hmm.. well, tried again with 0011 and it still does the same here. Actually, when doing a D&D operation, I'm over the Tree and slowly go down one node at a time. As soon as I would enter/hover the last visisble node, the Tree jumps to its end!
On top it behaves as in Catalog, only scrolls when hovering the upper-half of the item, but on bottom even as soon as I enter the last one, it jumps to the end
hmm ok, I see. This seems to happen only because I have TreeRowForAutoScroll=1 ! If I remove it that it's gone, but as soon as I have it >0 (I think, tried with 1 & 2 only) it jumps again

No you're right, it wasn't on the wiki! Despite the fact that i do use it every day or closeadmin wrote:BTW, there's a trick here since years that might not be widely known (is it in the wiki?): to speed up hot scrolling (when drag-hovering top or bottom of visible tree), move/wave the mouse horizontally.
Reason for this is that I hadn't realized it was an XY feature!
Anyways, I would have another request for a INI tricks, cause this made me realize something: there is something that really annoys me with XY, when dragging files out of XY into some other apps, I need to go down to my taskbar to activate that app, and because of this autoscroll XY pretty much always moves/scrolls my List a bit!
And I really don't like that. So if there was a way to disable this autoscroll unless a little delay (or moving the mouse horizontally, but no more sppeding things up) I'd love that!!

Ah, yes, that reminds me to another probably unknown (but I use it all the time since years!) feature: the list only auto-scrolls when you drag over the left half of the top/bottom row! The whole right half of the list is immune to auto-scrolling. So, with a nice croissant-shaped move you drag your stuff out of the list without any unwanted scrolling.jacky wrote:Anyways, I would have another request for a INI tricks, cause this made me realize something: there is something that really annoys me with XY, when dragging files out of XY into some other apps, I need to go down to my taskbar to activate that app, and because of this autoscroll XY pretty much always moves/scrolls my List a bit!

EDIT: whoops, not left half but Name column! I changed it sometime ago... those special tricks trick me out...

hehe... yeah, and I didn't know about this one! Nice one, I'll have to remember it.admin wrote:EDIT: whoops, not left half but Name column! I changed it sometime ago... those special tricks trick me out...
Allthough I would say that left half would be better to me actually, or even better: scroll for the 2 first panels on Statusbar, not the third. That way I'd even have a visual indicator of where the limit is, since I pretty much always go by the bottom (taskbar), not the top. (Obviously that only makes sense with high Tree though)
Especially since my column Name is quite large (Name.613,Size.87,Created.111,Modified.111) so, it'd be easier that way. Plus it'd be somewhat consistent with other List modes... and BTW, I tried just to see how it goes, seems there is no autoscroll at all on Finding tabs

You are right, but I'll have to check why I changed it from left half to name column....jacky wrote:hehe... yeah, and I didn't know about this one! UPDATE: did not find any good reason for the change to Name column so I changed it back to left half! Simply because, as you said, it's better with large Name columns and more suitable with other Views.
Finding tabs are no drop targets, hence no auto-scroll.

hmm.. but is there a reason for that? I mean I understand that the List itself is not a drop target as it doesn't have a "real" location, byt why can't I drop files onto a folder listed on Finding tabs, for example? Pretty useful after a Ctrl+F3 to reorder files & such IMOadmin wrote:Finding tabs are no drop targets, hence no auto-scroll.

The reasons are complex. I won't open this can before CKS is done.jacky wrote:hmm.. but is there a reason for that?
