Should disk management be a part of XY

I can certainly think of a few times when those things would have come in useful, but certainly this only wants to be an OnDemand thing.

Like others, I'm against bloat, but if you did it, TreeSize Pro does a great and simple charting job of it. You could add a couple of icons to the toolbar (maybe with a couple of arcane keyboard shortcuts for them?):

Toolbar icons for pie or bar chart

Details list (this alone gives me all the info I need at a glance)

Largest file list

Sample chart (in Preview mode?)

I recently posted a similar topic in the Wishes section @ http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=1336

and was pointed to this thread with a suggestion to post here...

I would like to see a size manager that would open in a tab and be able to recursively get size and file info on a folder and/or drive. The information should be able to be sorted on directory size number of files ect... I am not sure if this makes sense but those familiar with the size manager in PowerDesk might be able to describe it further.

So there's a Size Manager, it exists and you like it. And there's XY, a File Manager, it also exists and you like it. Where's the problem?
I know that I cover some topics in XY, that do not necessarily belong to a file manager, like e.g. Font Preview. But it does not follow that I will pack everything imaginable into it. And certainly not before the road (see roadmap) lies behind us.

No problem, it's really just a matter of convenience... The size manager is currently the only feature a keep PowerDesk 6 installed for. In addition I love XY's portability on my thumb drive and wanted an integrated size manger tab for that reason.

File managers and disk managers are by their nature linked. After all, what is a disk without files, and what are files without a disk?

There are some pretty nice examples above that show useful disk management data that could be implemented in the list view as just another option, like thumbnails.

I'd support this being in XY...

What is a computer without files? So a file manager should do everything a computer can do...

But surely, which folder or file is taking up how much space compared to others in a drive should be part of file managing. Because it is this information that makes us choose one or the other drive for performing file operations like deleting, moving or copying files. Just like Shift+F5 which quickly gives sizes there should be something that gives percentages.
Both absolute (bytes) and relative (percentages) units of data are useful for managing files.

I want to bring attention back to this topic as I was just thinking how much I'd like to see a Percent column, like in some of the images here, that worked exactly like jacky described earlier. Though, I'm not crazy about that coloring.

What exactly was the consensus of this?

A good solution inside XY would be fine here.
But I use a free version of the before mentioned TreeSize - it's quite easy: in XY you right-click on any directory, click TreeSize, and will see a nice graphic view of this dir and all it's subdirectories. Only problem: it's an own window, not imbedded in XY.

Reopening this thread from last year as it fits nicely:

Just found a new freeware app (via http://alternativeto.net) called "Glary Utilities" (http://www.glaryutilities.com/gu.html#) that does a number of things, among them a module that does a decent disk space display that has some features that I like...such as showing the largest files of various types (top right) as well as largest in the selected drive/folder (at bottom)...

BTW, I'm using v2.16.0.758 which isn't the latest and found that refresh doesn't quite work correctly...they have a newer vers but haven't tried it.
