It works! (But I don't have to understand this, right? )

I cannot claim to understand it myself.
Here's what I did: Couldn't find where to turn this instant thing off - I never use it - and it appears to be well hidden. So I ran Help > List All Commands, and entered "instant" into the live filter box at the bottom. That brought up the stuff I posted above.

Color of file in the List comes from2 sources:
1) Config > Color filters
This auto color files if they meet certain criteria (i.e: .exe files; files >1GB...)
2) Label (Config > Tags)
If you manually Label a file (Show column > Label), the the color is config here

Also 3) Instant Color Filters.
Right click the toolbar, choose customize, find the little paintroller icon and add it (if it's not there already). Then experiment with the dropdown part of the button. You might have the "Executable" option selected...

Did you also dive down into Tools > List Management > Instant Color Filters... ?

Yup - that's the one I was thinking of but don't use it often so forgot about it...and those default entries are there to show off the feature to new users as I remember it...thanks for the assist!

Yep, Virtual Folders! I call them Paper Folders. Going full circle back to papyrus, the good old egyptian shopping list. Very satisfying. Very easy to use. Good bye Selection Store (sorry Enternal!).

In Gulf countries, weeks do start on Saturdays. Their weekend is on Thursday and Friday.
