Type Stat and Filter Multi-Choice/Check mark

Post by raavellar01 »

It would be nice to be able to have a check mark option next to the extension choices in the drop down and a "ok" button to leave the drop down.

This is actually planned. There is already a script here in the forum that provides this. Don't remember the name right now.

Are you talking about this - http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 748#p83743 / http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 313#p85311

Code: Select all

selfilter inputselect("Choose The File Types To Select:", formatList(report("{Dir |*.{Ext}}|"), "dents"), "|", 2, , , , "Select By Type");

Wow. I am stunned. Wish I had come across these 2 scripts earlier :(
This doesn't just help me to get over the missing "Show in Groups" view that I use elsewhere to select whole sets in one go, it is actually MUCH better. :appl:

My CTBs are piling up. Need to get a grip on how to trigger them more efficiently.
Is is possible to incorporate scripts into the dropdowns of existing default buttons? Like, say, the right-click menu of the Visual Filter button?

No, but you can pack countless scripts in any single CTB.

Thanks. I remember having read about it and seen examples here in the forum. Needs research ..
Goes to show you cannot afford to skip the forum. Almost impossible, though, to keep track of new threads when I am back at work next week.

@Stef, It should be pretty simple:

Code: Select all

"Script 1"
 Load "script1.xys";
"Script 2"
 //script goes here...
..
...

A small variation:

Code: Select all

    $preSel = ("<curext>" != "") ? replace(formatlist(report("{Dir |*.{Ext}}|"), "dents"), "*.<curext>", "+*.<curext>") : formatlist(report("{Dir |*.{Ext}}|"), "dents");
    selfilter inputselect("Choose the file type(s) to select...", $preSel, "|", 2, , , , "Select by type");
If you've currently selected a file (that has an extension) the extension for it will be preselected in the selection window.
Otherwise (file without extension / folder) nothing is preselected.
