Tabs: new mouse click action

Hi Don,

I would like to see a new on *-click mouse action Toggle last|previous tab, and if it's feasible a new on single-click mouse event as well.

Expected behaviour
In a given XY session on source event

Code: Select all

- if (the currently active tab X has at least one previously active sibling Y)
--- focus Y
- else
--- do nothing

Nice idea but technically tricky. I implemented it experimentally as a tweak:

TabOnDblClick=8

Nice side effect: You can dbl-click *any* tab in the bar to trigger the toggle, so you have a large target for the mouse.

The tweak will not survive OK-ing the Configuration dialog. It's only an experiment for now. If it looks good I will add it to that list as "Select previous tab" or so.

PS: This works only if you have programmed the middle button to perform a dbl click.

That's ultrasmooth.

Nevertheless, except for the X close button, a LMD is eagerly awaiting being assigned a special tab job.

For me, that's a little but huge enhancer of my daily work.

Edit: I just started to scratch my tabs and make the tree path jump, jump, jump ...

Yep, but here the productivity gain comes from the mouse. In contrast, a majour CKS goodie ist <ctrl><shift><t> - Restore Last Closed Tab.

I browse the web, and I browse my files........

Wow, I don't know when this was added but this seems to address my previous tab issue posted some time ago here.
