[GRANTED] Quick Select from Address Bar
Posted: 24 Jul 2014 16:18
We have a nice way to quickly select a file when browsing into a location (<xypath>\XYplorer.chm), but it's limited to a single item and only a file at that. Further, once at a location the only easy way to select multiple files from the address bar is to run a Sel, SelectItems, or SelFilter SC or use those in an alias.
That we can search, highlight, focus, and filter items from the address bar with ease but selecting them takes a bit more work makes me sad.
It is time to introduce a new symbol to improve this and since this is similar I'm thinking Spot and Jump should become SJ and Select.
I propose >>> as the symbol for a quick select - unfortunately I'm late to the party so it's not ideal.*
This should operate exactly like spot except it also selects all matching items.
In addition:
A new command Select Spotted Items would be appreciated.
It should also be possible to browse and select.
* Ideally it would either be:
>Spot; >>Jump; >>>Select
or
>Select; >>Jump; >>>Spot
These orders seem more intuitive than: >Jump; >>Spot; >>>Select
But I don't want to go down the path of breaking backwards compatibility.
